Engineer Connectivity Ops - Wood Dale, IL
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 AM to 5 PM
Develop and support integration solutions. This includes working through the full development life cycle including analysis, specification, design, development, testing, implementation, and support. Must be able to learn technologies and business issues/resolutions quickly, make technical and business recommendations that fit customer needs, and work to deliver and support the appropriate solutions in a timely, professional manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop technical design documents for interfaces using existing templates.
Use the technical design documents to design and interface / integration solutions using the appropriate proprietary tools and Integration Engine technologies.
Develop, execute, and document development efforts and test plans.
Support of production interfaces/integrations.
Monitor and recommend architectural requirements of integration tools and application technologies.
Develop extract scripts and procedures to extract documents and document meta-data from the repository.
Support the setup of VPN and other configurations to support the application interfaces being developed.
- Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or similar or equivalent experience.
- Two years or more of working experience in a software technology field.
Specific technical skills required:
Database experience (e.g. Oracle, MySQL)
Healthcare integration / interface experience
TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP(S)
Unix (1-2 years of experience)
Specific technical skills preferred but not required:
Electronic document conversion utilities
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain high level of confidentiality
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff and customers.
Ability to interact well with users, technical staff and management at all levels within Quest Diagnostics and customer organizations.
Demonstrated aptitude and desire for learning new technologies.
Experience with middleware applications preferred.
Ability to manage development efforts across multiple customers.
