Our location in Abbott Park, IL currently has an opportunity for a Sr. AEM Developer (Digital & Ecommerce)

We are looking for a senior developer of digital solutions for Abbott’s Diabetes Care Division using Adobe Experience Manager. The Agile Senior Developer will execute true end-to-end development and testing of software products in an agile lifecycle. Partnering with key technical and business stakeholders, the agile developer will help refine the product vision, estimate and design a solution, create, purchase, or customize the requisite hardware and software to create the solution, ensure the quality of the final product through manual and automated tests, and support the new software as it is moved to production. You have worked on medium scale projects and want to take your impact to the global scale. You can work across multi-functional teams and multiple applications using the best each to meet business needs.

  • Provide estimates for development effort for requirements outlined by the Technology Lead.

  • Lead troubleshooting and optimization effort for production Digital systems.

  • Maintain existing and development of new features on Adobe Experience Manager 6.x websites.

  • Integrate with REST and Graph QL API’s provided by the integration solution such as MuleSoft.

  • Analyze user stories and develop modifications and fix bugs appropriately.

  • Able to work without direction following best practices and provide guidance to the developers in the team.

  • Write well-engineered source code that complies with accepted web standards passing our quality criteria (SonarQube, Veracode, OWASP 10).

  • Perform unit testing and automation testing of the features developed.

  • Create supporting change control documentation including design documents, unit test, and deployment instructions.

  • Support continuous improvement of coding standards and best practices for the team.

  • Working within a CI / CD environment using source control system (Bitbucket) and advanced branching strategies.

  • Ability to learn and support multiple applications in the Digital and e-Commerce ecosystem such as Cognito, Selligent, CloudSense, Mulesoft, Salesforce and Magento.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience as full stack developer and 4+ years Adobe Experience Manager.

  • Experience with Lean / Agile development methodologies.

  • Experience troubleshooting Java / AEM / TomCat web application and web infrastructure.

  • Development experience on MySQL, 3rd party REST/SOAP web services, Responsive design, Bootstrap, jQuery, (ReactJS or AngularJS), Website optimization, Web application security, AEM components, editable templates, workflows, OSGI Bundles, Maven, HTL and Sightly.

  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager platform level configuration such as dispatcher, caching and CDN, etc/maps configuration, ACL’s and workflows.

  • Strong experience with modern web technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS / Sass and market-leading frameworks (React is a preference).

  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming.

  • Experience working in matrix global organization with working in virtual geographically disparate teams being the norm.


  • Preferred experience with PCI-compliant environments.

  • Preferred experience with MuleSoft / AWS Lambda SOA integration framework.
