Eagle Foods, LLC Quality Assurance Compliance Supervisor in Waukegan, Illinois

The Quality Compliance Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the plants' Quality systems to ensure compliance to internal policies, regulatory guidelines, certifications and customer requirements. This person will assist in the identification and achievement of facility Quality KPI's through appropriate corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Along with reporting directly into the FSQA Manager, this person will serve as the back-up as needed.

  • Verifies with specific departments that all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory programs are functioning as designed, being followed, and correctly documented.

  • Assists in the maintenance of the Food Safety Plan and takes appropriate action to maintain its integrity.

  • Prepares and completes CARs for internal and external events.

  • Manages environmental monitoring program, including micro sampling and inspection of cleanliness of equipment to verify the effectiveness of sanitation activities.

  • Quickly and thoroughly investigates product/process failures, including root cause and corrective actions while minimizing product exposure and production downtime.

  • Investigate and act in response to any negative micro and shelf-life data to drive improvement.

  • Investigate and respond to consumer complaints.

  • Manage and audit traceability and recall program.

  • Develop and manage training program requirements.

  • Train and manage QA Coordinator.

  • Manage and monitor compliance to various certification requirements (Organic, Kosher, etc.).

  • Develops and manages internal audit program including scheduling, training, and CAR tracking.

  • Conducts internal audits with documented corrective actions and follow-ups.

  • Develop and manage Supplier Approval Program.

  • Conduct supplier audits as required.

  • Key contact for all external audits and inspections.

  • Serve as back-up to FSQA Manager and Supervisors during absences

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or equivalent

  • Required 3 years’ experience in Food Safety, Quality, Production, or Project Management in the food industry

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite in addition to knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures

  • Experience with FSMA, GFSI, Kosher, Organic, Gluten Free requirements required.

  • SQF, HACCP, PCQI, Sanitarian, CQA certifications preferred.
