Primary Functions

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business located in Lake Forest, IL.

This position leads all SAP enhancements for the Lake County Site supply chain in an effort to modernize the manufacturing systems landscape and enable substantial LRP savings across the Site. This position includes leading an organization of operations/supply chain, quality, Finance, and IT professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment while coordinating/partnering with GIS program team resources. The incumbent is accountable for leading the planning harmonizing, building, testing and deployment of SAP enhancements in the Lake County Site supply chain and K2 distribution centers. This role is responsible for all continuous improvement projects linked to SAP that support the following departments: Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing.

  • Will lead all SAPdevelopments and enhancements that include execution of manufacturingoperations, quality control and testing operations manufacturing financialreporting and cost accounting, material planning, control, and inventorymanagement, and direct and indirect procurement.

  • Implementing ExecutesProject Plans: Executes project plans to meet project goals, incorporatestechnical expertise, resource, and regulatory requirements into project plans.

  • Leads all continuousimprovements that are linked to SAP process enhancements: Recommends innovativeways to improve performance, quality and enhance profitability on an ongoingbasis, modifies work processes and procedures in line with current ADD qualityand regulatory requirements.

  • Manages Change: Evaluatesthe impact of project changes and adjusts implementation activities to meetrevised.

  • Clearly communicates anychanges and the impact to original plan within the project and across othergroups.

  • Drives for Results:Identifies and removes organizational barriers to achieving results.

  • Responsible forunderstanding SAP technology and direction, developing technical and investmentrecommendations, road-maps and long-range plans that align the Lake County Siteenhancement plan (Symphony). The incumbent will develop a program managementoffice and will establish routine methods to advise higher level management andbusiness leaders on program strategies, tactics and required deliverables.

  • Leads Site strategicharmonization of business processes spanning supply chain, finance, and qualitywhile developing strategies to manage risk to the business in all areas(product delivery/revenue, compliance/regulatory, productivity, etc.).

  • This position will beresponsible for accurately establishing more than 1,000 mfg recipes and qualityinspection plans, and accurate and compliant maintenance of all master data forthe Lake County operations network from over 50+ separate legacy systems.

  • Accountable for thesuccessful completion of project tasks on time and within budget.

  • Accountable for managingresources (direct and matrix) assigned to project regarding project tasks.

  • Resources could be 10 ormore team members from different operations and technical functions.

  • Includes mentoring andproviding feedback within a team and across other groups.

  • Reports directly to theLake County Supply Chain Manager or Program Director (depending on projectcomplexity project impact, and program organizational structure).

BASICQUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ Degree inComputer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Equivalent

  • M.S. and/or MBApreferred.

  • 7-12 years’ SAP experiencein Information Systems analysis, design, development, and implementationexperience.

  • 3-5 years Information SystemsProject Management experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience in ITStrategic Planning

  • 1-3 years’ experience in ITProject Management, planning, and execution across multiple organizationalboundaries
