Scot Forge Company Maintenance Technician II in Spring Grove, Illinois

This position willwork second shift, hours are 3 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose combustion, electrical, mechanical and other equipment problems using a variety of test procedures.

  • Dismantle combustion, electrical, mechanical and other equipment; replace defective parts, reassemble, and test.

  • Work from quality procedures, customer specifications, industry specifications, machine manuals, and instructions from Group Leader, Supervisor, and Service Technicians.

  • Perform calibrations, tuning, and preventive maintenance as required by specifications and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of tests and calibrations and prepare appropriate reports

  • Assist during installation of new equipment and retrofits of existing equipment.

  • Provide support for startup of new equipment.

  • Assist in the continuous improvement procedures, methods, and training and provide hands on technical assistance in the development and implementation of improved controls and other engineering projects as directed.

  • This position will work under the direction of the department supervisor and the Flex labor manager. This position may be required to learn/develop additional skills to flex to other departments/locations/shifts in order to service the business needs and meet customer expectations

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

  • 2 year Associates or equivalent program pursuing a degree in; mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.

  • 5 years’ experience in a heavy industrial maintenance.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Exposed to extreme temperatures both hot and cold.

  • Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particulate, noise, chemicals, slippery conditions, un-even terrain, heights, cut hazards, heavy equipment, suspended loads, and burns from hot product.

  • 50+ hours per week typically required

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • Ability to pass a lift evaluation (up to 65 lbs.) pre-employment.

  • Must be able to pass a hair drug test.
