Scot Forge Company Maintenance Technician II in Spring Grove, Illinois
This position willwork second shift, hours are 3 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Diagnose combustion, electrical, mechanical and other equipment problems using a variety of test procedures.
Dismantle combustion, electrical, mechanical and other equipment; replace defective parts, reassemble, and test.
Work from quality procedures, customer specifications, industry specifications, machine manuals, and instructions from Group Leader, Supervisor, and Service Technicians.
Perform calibrations, tuning, and preventive maintenance as required by specifications and procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation of tests and calibrations and prepare appropriate reports
Assist during installation of new equipment and retrofits of existing equipment.
Provide support for startup of new equipment.
Assist in the continuous improvement procedures, methods, and training and provide hands on technical assistance in the development and implementation of improved controls and other engineering projects as directed.
This position will work under the direction of the department supervisor and the Flex labor manager. This position may be required to learn/develop additional skills to flex to other departments/locations/shifts in order to service the business needs and meet customer expectations
High school diploma/GED
Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
2 year Associates or equivalent program pursuing a degree in; mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
5 years’ experience in a heavy industrial maintenance.
Proficiency with Microsoft suite
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Exposed to extreme temperatures both hot and cold.
Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particulate, noise, chemicals, slippery conditions, un-even terrain, heights, cut hazards, heavy equipment, suspended loads, and burns from hot product.
50+ hours per week typically required
Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Ability to pass a lift evaluation (up to 65 lbs.) pre-employment.
Must be able to pass a hair drug test.
