Aerotek Electro Mechanical Assembler (I, II, III) in SCHILLER PARK, Illinois


This position is for an Electro Mechanical Assembler and will require individuals to perform start to finish assembly of the packaging equipment. They will use hand and power tools along with other equipment to assemble both mechanically along with electrically from start to finish.

Responsibilities include • Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings including identifying parts to drawing, symbol recognition and material recognition. • Utilizing drawings plan assembly and build sequence. • Build assemblies, sub-assemblies, segments of machines and construct/assist in constructing standalone machines and/or large integrated systems. • Utilize a variety of power and hand tools for assembly. • Read, interpret and understand schematics including component and symbol recognition. • Utilizing schematic, plan electrical assembly and wiring sequence. • Follow electrical schematic for build and wiring. Builds and wiring may include electrical junction boxes, line connections, stop buttons, push buttons, safety switches, outlets, electrical motors, variable frequency drives, plc’s, electrical sub-assemblies, and other electrical units. • Build and wire electrical control boxes and panels. • Wire complete machines and systems. • Properly utilize a variety of hand tools for assembly and wiring such as wire cutters, hacksaw, sealtite cutters, wire stripper, grinder, drill, electrical meter, etc. • Travel to customer locations for installation as required. • Communicate potential problems to Lead / Manager. • Ensure assembly and build tasks are completed within budget and on-time per schedule. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment. • Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations. • Understand and maintain both quality and quantity standards and expectations. • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance. • Responsible for accurately reporting hours worked in MES. • Demonstrate ability and proficiency in all skills as outlined in ARPAC Electro Mechanical Assembly Certification Program and successfully complete certification program for the respective levels.

Job Requirements • At least 2 years of experience working in an electro mechanical assembly role • Ability to read blueprints and build to prints • Ability to read schematic and wire schematic specifications • Knowledge and understanding of applicable electrical codes, NFPA-79 and UL508A would be a plust
