The VP-Environmental, Health and Safety (VP-EHS) will serve as a key member of the Regal leadership team. This is a strategic and hands-on role that is responsible for developing strategy and building roadmaps of implementation, communication, and compliance as well as for providing thought leadership.
The VP-EHS is responsible for leveraging their expertise to lead Regal’s global environmental, health and safety functions through assessing the effectiveness of Regal’s programs while anticipating and navigating the ever changing compliance landscape. The VP-EHS serves as a key partner to the Executive Leadership Team, Segment Presidents, VP/GMs and Site Leaders.
It is expected that the VP-EHS will frequently go to Gemba and, working with Regal segment and site leadership, provide compelling communication of EHS expectations. The VP-EHS will supervise the Director of Global Risk & Property Management and together they will drive Regal’s enterprise risk assessment and mitigation processes, manage the optimal use and disposition of Regal properties, and ensure the efficacy of our business continuity measures and contingencies.
The VP-EHS will work globally with Regal’s segments and sites to enable them to leverage best practices, key learnings, and expertise, enabling every Regal site and business to ensure the safety of our associates, exceed our customers’ expectations, and enhance our communities. S/he must be forward thinking and have the ability to expeditiously execute global projects and programs.
Primary responsibility will be leading Regal globally in (i) mandating safety expectations and requirements, proactively identifying workplace hazards, and instilling safety-first processes and practices that prioritize the health and safety of our associates; (ii) ensuring all our locations are managing natural resource consumption, eliminating waste and complying with environmental regulations; and (iii) standardize and enhance EHS performance globally, with a significant focus on Continuous Improvement and raising the bar on performance through the development and implementation of a world class global EHS management system.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in EHS, Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Science, or related field
15 years of combined global experience in Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene & Safety in an industrial/ manufacturing setting
Experience working in a de-centralized organization and multicultural environment
Demonstrated global acumen at all levels of the organization and an ability to establish credibility and drive change within the organization
High energy, driven executive with demonstrated experience implementing change on a large scale
Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time, with international travel required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to understand, interpret and convey business, technical, regulatory, and financial information to others
Experience driving continuous improvement in processes and performance; Results and detail-oriented
Ability to manage and inspire direct reports and other team members, especially site leadership, to peak performance
Well-developed skills in the use of technology including performance measurement tools as well as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
