Position Summary:

  • Primary job function is to improve and maintain claim quality throughout the company. Has overall responsibility for development of claim best practices, claim professional training, and compliance. Leads efforts in overall consistency of liability claim handling.

  • Leads and directs the area claim quality functions. Oversees the quality handling of the largest and/or most complex claims. Reviews and addresses quality of claim reserves within authority. Conducts case reviews and evaluates claims staff performance by continuous review of claims statistics, open and closed file evaluations, re-inspection, and observation of activities in the field and office.

  • Approves personnel activities concerning hiring, training/development, and evaluation of staff performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting new staff onboarding and training regarding claim handling practices and procedures.

  • Developing internal best practices for claim handling and litigation management.

  • Auditing all claims professionals on no less than semi-monthly basis.

  • Leading weekly claims committee meetings.

  • Conducting new employee training as well as monthly training seminars.

  • Also tasked with development and maintenance of internal audit tools and a claims professionals handbook.

  • Provides mentorship for claims professional staff.

  • Responsible for leading multiple projects and following projects through implementation successfully.

  • Responsible for executing and coordinating claim quality reviews and claim quality plans.

Additional Considerations:


  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 9 years relevant claims handling experience in addition to proficiency in MS Office applications, and related claims and business software..

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous auditing experience in addition to extensive liability and workers compensation claims background.

  • Strong process management skills.

  • Results-oriented, self-motivated professional with the ability to balance business goals and strategies with a hands-on operating approach.

  • Proven expertise in claims, audit and operations environments. A solid history of achievement and increased responsibility spanning several claim and audit roles. Committed to improving processes and bottom line financial and operating results. Particularly effective in identifying critical issues and developing new strategies to meet the needs of the organization and customers.

U.S. Eligibility Requirements:
