Position Title: Clinical Production Supervisor

Location: Rockford, IL -- Assembly Drive

Department: Clinical Production

Shift: 2nd

Reporting To: Manager, Clinical Operations

Responsible For (Staff): yes

Directs and coordinates activities of operations personnel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


  1. Assure a safe working environment for employees and secure necessary training to meet needs and regulations.

  2. Assure compliance of plant operations with company policy, federal, state and local regulations, including OSHA, FDA and employment law.

  3. Communicate operational challenge and your course corrections with regard to Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, or Personnel to Shift Managers daily. Facilitate the line/shift handoff prior to departure every day.

  4. Organize and work with various departments such as Warehouse, Maintenance, Engineering, Validations, and QC to affect operational efficiency and economy.

  5. Understand operating challenges and utilize problem solving tools to drive continuous improvement opportunities,

  6. Proactively manage staffing levels to include periods of vacations and holidays to meet required service levels.

  7. Ensure appropriate cross training to staff production lines through various staffing and manufacturing challenges.

  8. Make ongoing decisions and take the necessary corrective actions that affect overall production plans to include:

  9. Determines if a line is fit to keep running or to hand over to technical resources

  10. Review quality issues and perform defect investigation

  11. Assess any potential safety issues

  12. Process related training

  13. Times of escalation and to who

  14. Line Clearance performance

  15. Batch Record accuracy

  16. Labor Utilization

  17. Performance associate evaluations on a regular basis, providing feedback and development as needed.

  18. Own and actively drive visual control boards and line communications.

  19. Analyze performance of equipment, personnel and shift for improvement opportunities, develop plans and execute projects to improve the process.

  20. May require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

  21. Performance manages time and attendance daily to include approval of payroll.

  22. This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  23. Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  24. Attendance to work is an essential function of this position

  25. Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor
