Aerotek Associate Manufacturing Technician in Rockford, Illinois


Associate Manufacturing Technician -

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture small, medium and large-scale formulations of products in appropriately sized vessels within a hazardous formulations laboratory and clean room environment.

Set up and operate an assortment of automated and semi-automated filling equipment in cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments.

Conduct in-process quality control inspection of finished goods using scientific analytical equipment.

Using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Completion of weekly production work orders.

Process documentation is maintained in the form of batch record sheets, reports and lab notebooks and the technician must contribute to and foster the development of a healthy cooperative environment.

Set up and operate an assortment of dispensing equipment. This equipment would include automated filling lines.

Cleaning, assembling and disassembling equipment.

Process jobs utilizing less complex equipment - pipettes, automated labelers, peristaltic pumps, etc.

Initiate, lead (or participate on) and implement continuous improvement projects using Lean concepts such as 5S, GEMBA, Kaizen, etc.

Use/operate moderately heavy equipment such as drum carts, balances and filled carboys and barrels

Routinely lift and handle up to 50 lbs., as required by the task/process being performed.

Assisting other departments as required.

Other projects / duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

o A 2 year degree in biological sciences or chemistry preferred or 2 years of equivalent experience.

o Communicate and network effectively with other peers and departments.

o Mechanical aptitude.

o Ability to organize, process, and prioritize several tasks simultaneously.

o Ability to work in a fast paced environment with team members striving towards common goals.

o Display knowledge of production steps and the general ability to process orders with minimal guidance/training.
