Summary

Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Need to be trained to maintain all areas of the store to include restrooms, floors (includes scrubber), sidewalks, parking lot, trash receptacles, outside grass areas, pumps, pads, and trash compactor.

1st and 2nd shift maintenance will be routine cleaning in all areas, especially restrooms.

3rd shift will include detailed cleaning of floors (scrubbing, waxing, etc.) and restrooms.

Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor. Cleans internal areas of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, and mopping. Washes windows. Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup. Paints interior and exterior walls and trim. Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks. Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses. Repairs or replaces building brick, stone, and concrete. Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings. Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment such as truck, street sweeper, and riding mower. Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Reports to lead maintenance when possible, guest service leader when not possible.

Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
