Purpose

To lead the development and execution of the sourcing strategies for Glass, PET, Closures and Cans for North America, covering an estimated annual spend of $350M. To lead the negotiation of contractual arrangements with suppliers in these categories to ensure they reflect the needs of the business and meet corporate standards.

Decision Making

-This role will be required to make strategic decisions related to supplier, materials, outsourcing changes for Glass, PET, Closures and Cans.

-This role will be responsible for delivering value to the business against commitments made regarding financial deliverables and risk, as tracked through annual operating plans (AOP) and --Purchase Price Variance (PPV).

Financial Responsibility

-Accountable for overseeing the forecasting and standard setting during annual budget process

-Accountable for overseeing a total spend of $350M

-Accountable for contributing to company's overall economic profit by leading the development and execution of savings projects for relevant categories

Management Responsibility

-Manages and develops team of seven direct reports

-Manage performance and talent development of team

Complexity of Role

-Member of the NA Supply Procurement extended leadership team.

-Interface with other operating centers to leverage experiences and learning.

-Develop and maintain good business relationships with senior management at suppliers.

-Ensures all processes and procurement initiatives are compliant to Diageo’s Code of Business Conduct and are fully deployed in relevant areas.

-Strong working relationships with the commercial aspects of the business as well as leaders in Network Supply, Finance, Technical operations, Conversion and Procurement team.

-Required to be the functional expert on the group of category areas for Diageo and present opportunities to the organization on a strategic level.

-Ability to coach and train on specific financial analysis, business law, technical and regulatory as it impacts specific category and commodity strategies and spend as well as train on Global Procurement tools on Category Management, SRM.

-Analyzes markets, suppliers, and industries at the strategic levels to develop vision and coach personnel.

-Oversees delivery of all relevant projects/initiatives/savings tracking.

Key Outputs/Deliverables

Accountable to set strategic procurement direction for relevant spend area.

-Responsible for providing a focus for negotiations and leading negotiations as appropriate.

-Responsible and accountable for driving the strategic relationship with suppliers and developing a procurement strategy for Glass, PET, Closures and Cans.

-Accountable for developing and implementing standards in the selection process for all new suppliers.

Experience

-8-10+ years of procurement/supply chain experience in a multi-plant environment.

-Must demonstrate knowledge and application of current world-class procurement techniques.

-Outstanding leadership, analytical and interpersonal skills.

-Demonstrated experience in people management and development.

-Demonstrated experience in leading/managing organizational change.

-Experience in key procurement skills including negotiations, analysis, forecasting and benchmarking etc.

-Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree a plus.
