Job Summary
Plans and directs the operations of an assigned production area in the manufacturing facility, including safety, quality, productivity, and all related personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leads and directs department supervisors with respect to the volume, cost, and quality of their production area, and in meeting both production schedules and delivery dates
Encourages supervisors and production workers to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity
Promotes the efficient utilization of equipment, facilities, personnel, and raw materials.
Prepares and maintains production reports.
Ensures proper 6S' and maintenance (including preventive maintenance) of areas of responsibility.
Recommends process and procedural changes to improve overall plant profitability.
Works with the Plant AGM to develop goals, standards, and work schedules for the production area.
Ensures compliance with company policies and safety standards throughout areas of responsibility.
Works with departmental staff to insure harmonious employee and labor relations are maintained.
Manages departmental budgets and operations, including recommendation of capital equipment.
Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements
Meets one of the following education and experience requirements: a. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, or a related discipline plus 8 years of manufacturing experience; OR 5 years NAL manufacturing experience; OR b. Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, or a related discipline plus 10 years of manufacturing experience or 7 years of NAL Manufacturing experience; OR c. High School or GED plus 12 years of manufacturing experience 13. 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role 14. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas: a. Coaching and leadership skills b. Analytical and problem solving skills c. Organizational and planning skills d. Computer skills using standard business software (including MS Office programs) e. Written and verbal communications and presentation skills f. Interpersonal skills — to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
