Description

The Technical Lead in the Marketing Technology (MarTech) Custom Development Services COE is responsible for leading technical development activities in support of AbbVie’s US Commercial business units. S/he will support AbbVie’s digital custom solutions, primarily creation and enhancement of websites and the associated technical solutions developed using various technology stacks. The individual will work closely with business and technology leads including managers, analysts, architects, project managers. The individual will operate as a technology development subject matter expert for various HCP, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Managed Care, and OEC tools, and will be the point person for all development activities employing custom website solutions platforms. S/he will report directly to the Manager, Development Services as part of the Marketing Technology services COE organization.

Qualified candidates must have proven technical architectural experience in implementation and maintenance of solutions utilizing web development tools including .NET, Java, and Qliksense.

Primary Responsibilities/Duties

  • Serve as the technology development subject matter expert in custom website development with specific expertise in web development tools (.NET, Java), API’s, Cloud Computing, Analytics, and database development.

  • Provide development solutions by translating business requirements into well-architected technology solutions.

  • Interface with Business stakeholders to understand needs and identify technical solutions.

  • Act as liaison between Business stakeholders and development team.

  • Lead the technical development and delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements.

  • Lead custom development team leveraging an onshore/near shore/offshore resourcing model.

  • Lead technical design sessions to architect and document technical solutions that are aligned with business objectives.

  • Detailed knowledge and experience in web development ecosystem.

  • Core competencies in .NET, Java, SQL Server, XML, HTTP, Web Services (REST/SOAP) development.

  • Experience building responsive mobile web applications for mobile devices

  • Deep expertise and hands on experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API's.

  • Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc ..) is needed to be successful in this position.

  • Provide hands-on, expert-level technical assistance to developers

  • Conduct code reviews for ongoing projects to ensure that code quality is at the highest level possible and appropriate design patterns are being used

  • Provide detailed development estimates and lead solution development activities.

  • Track financial spend and metrics against project estimates and budgets.

  • Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to promote re-use of code modules.

  • Establish standards and guidelines for effective use of the Wed Development solutions, their integration and integration with other core AbbVie systems.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable AbbVie Policies and procedures.

  • Work with minimal oversight; deliverables and relationships that are monitored through periodic reviews.

  • Bachelor’s Degree .

  • Atleast 5 or more years of technology experience in a custom development services organization with hands-on experience leading, developing and architecting websites and capabilities.

Skills/Experience Requirements

  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.

  • Must have experience in all phases of website custom development project delivery, including demand management, project estimating, status reporting, resource management, and resource allocation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build trust, listen, and ask effective questions with the goal to create scalable and reusable business solutions.

  • Innovative thinking and the ability to leverage past technology experience to be successful in an entrepreneurial fast paced environment.

  • Strong IT analysis, development and infrastructure skills.

  • Ability to self-manage time and priorities.
