Description of Key Responsibility:
Responsible for support of all College owned Apple computers, mobile ios devices and peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, network cards and disk drives in faculty and staff offices, student labs, teaching stations and residence halls. This support covers hardware, software and all network client functions.
Design and implement process for maintaining up-to-date patch levels and software updates for all college supported Apple software and hardware
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate software is loaded and functioning correctly in Apple labs for instructional purposes.
Assist PC End User Support Specialist with troubleshooting Windows and Linux issues when not working on Apple-specific issues
Following existing support practices and procedures, produce and maintain useful, well-written documentation, and collaborate as needed with other ITS staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Share in responsibility for the Help Desk web page; especially with regard to Apple computers.
Other related duties as assigned, which may include tasks like assisting with the transport and storage of large equipment deliveries, representing departmental interests at various meetings, or temporarily assisting HelpDesk by answering the general IT Helpdesk phone line.
Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Interactive Media Studies, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
1-2 years’ experience in a similar position supporting Apple devices for end-users preferred. Knowledge and experience in a College environment preferred.
Experience implementing and managing Apple Device Enrollment Programs ( DEP ), Apple Volume Purchase Programs ( VPP ), Apple School Manager, and the integration of Apple Configurator with third-party Mobile Device Management solutions, specifically Jamf MDM , greatly preferred.
Licenses or Certifications:
A+, Network+, and Apple Certified Support Professional certifications are preferred.
The Apple End User Support Specialist is responsible for resolving problems, questions or concerns related to the purchase, use, management and ongoing end-user support of Apple products at North Central College, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices and software.
