Project Engineer


As a Facility Health Engineer you will be responsible for improved operational efficiency as well as managing capital improvement projects where realized benefits are evident(OPACC positive).

JobDuties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing complex projects involving multiple support groups, from the Discovery phase through the Implementation phase

  • Maintaining multiple open projects; managing cost, timeline, execution & managerial communication for each

  • Completing capital purchasing functions for the facility including requesting funds, procurement, installation and place-into-service activity

  • Becoming "go-to" resource for KPI data, supply chain projects and automation implementation

  • Gathering and analyzing data on facility Inbound/internal/outbound processes

  • Performing design, procurement and implementation work across multiple functions to make improvements required to maintain operational quality, velocity and performance standards

  • Performing Engineering work to reduce / eliminate supply chain constraints at both the facility and value stream level, working with a cross-functional team of personnel

  • Maintaining multiple open projects; managing cost, timeline, execution & managerial communication for each

The Product Support & Logistics Division currently has an opening for a Supply Chain Planning Engineer located in our Morton, IL facility. As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer on the Facility Health team, you are responsible for improved facility performance levels for put-away, material slotting, and order-filling. You will lead facility efforts to develop and implement improvement projects, data collection, engineering scorecard, automation metrics and improved throughput efficiency.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain and/or Logistics

  • Previous experience in engineering, logistics, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, or project management

  • Project management experience

  • Strong PC and analytical skills (MS Office, AutoCAD, data analysis), problem solving, and strong communications skills.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures

  • AutoCAD/Drafting Software experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills

  • Previous experience as a Supply Chain Planning Analyst or Engineer

  • Background in Automation, Manufacturing / Operations, Engineering, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, and/or Logistics

  • Ability to design and deploy projects in a highly productive environment with minimal disruption to daily operations requirements

  • Experience with the CPS RIW and Value Stream Transformation process

  • Experience and knowledge of lean concepts and tools

  • Knowledge of and / or experience using 6 Sigma Project Management principles

  • Leadership skills

  • Parts Distribution experience

  • EWM/Business Objects experience

  • Procurement experience
