The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Quality Manager. The Quality Manager is responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer. Must fully understand the requirements for the product or service and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as the competition.

The goal is to help preserve our reputation by ensuring that our products and services are capable to drive sustainable growth.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.

  • Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.

  • Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.

  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.

  • Lead a team of Quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians

  • Work with customers, employees, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop product requirements.

  • Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.

  • Conduct periodic management review meetings.

  • Oversee product recalls.

  • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.

  • Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.(Manager to provide additional responsibilities that is more organization/BU specific.)

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a company-wide quality management system consistent with manufacturing and production standards to include internal auditing of all processes.

  • Handle and resolve quality issues with clients, manage manufacturing and production quality staff, continuously verify effectiveness, and provide advice for improving the quality system.

  • Oversee process and product audits, testing, and inspections to lead the team in continuous improvement initiatives and processes.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control is required.

  • Current CQA or similar certification is preferred. The Quality managers must have proven ability to lead a diverse team of technicians.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels are essential.

  • Must have strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and management skills.

  • Experience with MS-Office (especially Excel, Word) is needed. Project management experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trained or exposure to Six Sigma and Lean methodology

  • Lead Auditor-Strategic Quality management
