The Inventory Analyst will ensure the optimal level of inventory while maintaining required service levels for assigned customer accounts and/or commodity item groups. Special attention must be paid to improving turns, identifying inventory levels that exceed demand and minimizing aged inventory.
Account management/commodity management - medium to high level of difficulty
Analyzes inventory levels, prepares forecasts and makes purchases to support demand
Processes forecast change requests
Manages turns and aged inventory reduction efforts
Prepares forecasts and run out schedules for clients
Communicates cost changes and timing to Data Integrity
Review and follow up on daily, weekly and month-end inventory reports
Investigates and resolves A/P issues via DataServ
Purchase Price Variance review and maintenance
Prepares and enters monthly transfers
PO processing manual and JDA/AWR due orders
Manages History Exceptions
Coordinates new store programs, account launches and program additions
Report generation and maintenance
New Store Programs, new account launches and program additions
Assists in line reviews and cost reduction efforts with Purchasing
Identifies and resolves supplier issues
Participates in conference calls and meetings with clients and sales, contributing client specific information
Inventory expert (processes, issues, ‘one-off’ information) for assigned accounts
Enters vendor returns; inventory write-offs and destructions
Follow up on open purchase orders and expedite as needed
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Five or more years working in a distribution warehousing or purchasing environment with hands-on knowledge of inventory management principles and systems, or experience in retail supplier business.
Certification in JDA/AWR Levels I, II and III preferred
Communication, both written and verbal
Analytical, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Project and priority management (Organization)
Knowledge of contemporary inventory management concepts, practices and procedures
PC proficiency including Word and Advanced Excel
Report generation; JD Edwards experience (AS400 Query, World Writer)
Pro Diver experience a plus
Moderate travel required
