Power Plant Services Production Manager in Melrose Park, Illinois


Job Summary

In this role, the manager will be responsible for meeting all operational and financial goals in accordance with the company?s overall goals and strategies. The Production Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and ensuring clear communication of instructions to create understanding, while providing an example of enthusiasm, persistence, integrity, and dependability. This position is accountable for delivering the established site goals for quality, productivity, budgetary and environmental, health and safety compliance.


Wednesday Through Sunday 1st shift

Monday off and Tuesday is optional depending on the workload. Sometimes Sunday will be optional too.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan and participate in continuous improvement, cost reductions and production optimization efforts to meet and exceed budget expectations

  • Direct daily production operations and systems to ensure production meets delivery schedules.

  • Strengthen manufacturing floor leadership through the development of supervisors

  • Monitor employee performance including action plans for non-performers and rewards for those with superior performance

  • Complete all report and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner and maintain appropriate documentation and records

  • Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility or equipment purchase, maintenance, or modification, including the replacement of machines

  • Develop or implement and use production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems

  • Establish and maintain a successful safety culture by implementing and driving disciplined processes and systems to ensure the safety of all employees

  • Self-starter and able to conceptualize and drive initiatives forward

  • Provide access to the tools and training for work teams to perform their activities effectively and efficiently

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years demonstrated manufacturing experience required.

  • Supervisory/Management experience preferred but willing to train individuals that possess strong CNC machining and engineering technical skills to be in management

  • Must have proven ability to create and maintain goals and objectives that are consistent with the company mission statement.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of factory process and equipment, have workable knowledge of industry technological developments and best practices.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Familiar and comfortable with use of computer for daily tasks, including but not limited to MS Office and Outlook

  • Ability and willingness to learn new things.

  • Familiar with ERP Software; ideally Epicor


  • Bachelors? degree in Engineering preferred
