Monsanto Production Manager in MASON CITY, Illinois

We are seeking a motivated Production Manager. This position will be located in Mason City, Illinois reporting to our Production Lead.

The Production Manager will assist the Production Lead with all facets of plant operations. The Production Manager participates as a member of the Site Leadership Team and will maintain a strong relationship with the team and other site support personnel, to support operations and resolve production challenges. The successful candidate will need to be able to adapt quickly to changes in our business, courageously face new challenges and opportunities and leverage the talents, skills and resources of team members and peers.


  • Influence team members through motivation, recognition, leadership, and development.

  • Direct plant operations such as conditioning, packaging, warehousing / inventory management / distribution, etc.

  • Participate and help lead the ESH and Quality Management System (QMS) elements and programs and associated networks.

  • Support compliance with Global Stewardship and Corporate Quality Management procedures and policies in addition to Crop Level and site specific Standard Operating Procedures. (SOPs)

  • Identify and implement operational improvements, metrics tracking, best practices and participates in related networks for cross sharing.

  • Collaborate with site leadership to on-board and develop new talent.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, engineering, technical, or related environment

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach people and teams

  • Results oriented leadership approach

  • Valid Driver's License

Qualifications – Desired Skills/ Experience:

  • Experience with agriculture, seed manufacturing

  • Experience in working and/or leading in a matrix environment

  • Computer proficiencies to include SAP

  • Knowledge of process improvement principles such as Lean, Six Sigma
