Oracle Cloud Architect - Oracle Utilities SaaS in Lombard, Illinois
Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

We are seeking an experienced software architect for our SaaS services, focused on the provisioning, managing, support and monitoring of our cloud services. The right candidate will bring a breadth of SaaS product and infrastructure expertise to the team, along with a willingness to try new approaches in search of the best possible solutions. The right candidate will also foster cross-organizational collaboration and open idea-sharing within the larger group, while taking the lead in researching and recommending solution implementation plans & options for problems that may entail partial information and dynamic requirements.

About the Team
We’re a team of architects (approximately 15-20 people) responsible for a large software product footprint. We’re passionate about designing elegant architecture that scales to meet the needs of energy companies and water utilities on a global scale. Together we bring a broad set of skills and capabilities to our group, and we are always working to better integrate our talents in service of more effective solutions.
What You’ll Make Happen:
Get up to speed on Oracle Utilities products and cloud architecture.
Establish relationships with product management, engineering, other architects and other groups in Oracle that are involved in our SaaS platform.
Gain hands on experience with Oracle OCI stack (IaaS and PaaS).
Become familiar with Oracle Identity Management Cloud Service (IDCS), provisioning platform and tools (TAS, SPM, MQS, etc).
Become familiar with our Utilities Framework platform, data model and services.
Work together with other team members to provide support for various Cloud Services related issues (customer facing and internal).
Design new generation of provisioning logic and customer facing cloud self-service tools.
Help our cloud product management team define and prioritize internal and customer facing requirements.
Jump in and get hands on during research, client support and sales demos.
Be an active voice in the architecture across Oracle Utilities to identify synergies, potential gaps and to advocate for new tools or design patterns that you feel passionate about.
You have a track record of:
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, API frameworks, integration platforms.
Familiarity with Oracle OCI stack (e.g. IDCS, Object Storage, Compute) or other cloud industry equivalents.
Experience with distributed cloud systems at an enterprise or global level.
Experience in Java and/or scripting language (Python, BASH) and Linux.
Moving between high level architecture vision and low-level technical guidance.
Working with cloud security best practices.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Explaining and advocating for software features to a broad audience ranging from executive management teams to engineers to clients or business stakeholders.
