You will be part of a larger product development team responsible for building reusable components and solutions. These teams are located in downtown Chicago and responsible for innovative solutions using various machine data and sensors. New actionable insights and applications will be developed using predictive analytics models and machine learning. The solutions will be deployed in both Cloud and On-Premise environments depending on the customer. This team uses cutting-edge technologies and methods such as gRPC and Kubernetes. Our customers are spread out over many domains including transport & logistics, healthcare, retail and manufacturing.

(This position will be based out of the Chicago, IL office - Remote to start due to Covid)

Responsibilities

• Working within a cross functional, Agile development team , this Java Developer will be responsible for hands on development and technical delivery of innovative components used in data driven solutions.

• You will have a sound working knowledge of Java, Spring, NoSQL, SQL and other tools. You should be self-motivated and drive through rapidly changing requirements typically found in innovative business units.

• Solid understanding of building compelling back end application frameworks.

• Strong interest in product development and building extensible frameworks.

• Continuously improve, refine and refactor the code.

• Nice to have some knowledge of C#

• 2+ years of production software development experience

• Experience in highly Agile development teams

• Experience in GCP and API development, including externally exposed APIs

• Proven written and verbal communication skills

• Proven problem solver and impediment remover, finds solution to blockers and helps resolve technical issues quickly to achieve sprint goal.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in developing applications using Java.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Java 8+ Solid understanding of JavaScript and node.js

• Knowledge of NoSQL systems like MongoDB and Redis using Spring Data

• Experience with Spring frame work and developing micro services using Spring Boot

• Knowledge of messaging brokers like MQTT or Kafka

• Good Understanding of GCP (Google Cloud) or experience with other cloud environments like Azure/AWS.
