WHAT YOU’LL DO

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business located in Lake Forest, IL.

This position leads all SAP enhancements for the Lake County Site supply chain in an effort to modernize the manufacturing systems landscape and enable substantial LRP savings across the Site. This position includes leading an organization of operations/supply chain, quality, Finance, and IT professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment while coordinating/partnering with GIS program team resources. The incumbent is accountable for leading the planning harmonizing, building, testing and deployment of SAP enhancements in the Lake County Site supply chain and K2 distribution centers. This role is responsible for all continuous improvement projects linked to SAP that support the following departments: Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing.

  • Will lead all SAP developments and enhancements that include execution of manufacturing operations, quality control and testing operations manufacturing financial reporting and cost accounting, material planning, control, and inventory management, and direct and indirect procurement.

  • Implementing Executes Project Plans: Executes project plans to meet project goals, incorporates technical expertise, resource, and regulatory requirements into project plans.

  • Leads all continuous improvements that are linked to SAP process enhancements: Recommends innovative ways to improve performance, quality and enhance profitability on an ongoing basis, modifies work processes and procedures in line with current ADD quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Manages Change: Evaluates the impact of project changes and adjusts implementation activities to meet revised.

  • Clearly communicates any changes and the impact to original plan within the project and across other groups.

  • Drives for Results: Identifies and removes organizational barriers to achieving results.

  • Responsible for understanding SAP technology and direction, developing technical and investment recommendations, road-maps and long-range plans that align the Lake County Site enhancement plan (Symphony). The incumbent will develop a program management office and will establish routine methods to advise higher level management and business leaders on program strategies, tactics and required deliverables.

  • Risk Management: Evaluates Risk: Provides risk assessments (both safety and project related) and communicates critical issues impacting product quality to management.

  • Quantifies and evaluates risks recommends actions and develops contingencies.

  • Leads Site strategic harmonization of business processes spanning supply chain, finance, and quality while developing strategies to manage risk to the business in all areas (product delivery/revenue, compliance/regulatory, productivity, etc.).

  • This position will be responsible for accurately establishing more than 1,000 mfg recipes and quality inspection plans, and accurate and compliant maintenance of all master data for the Lake County operations network from over 50+ separate legacy systems.

  • Accountable for the successful completion of project tasks on time and within budget.

  • Accountable for managing resources (direct and matrix) assigned to project regarding project tasks.

  • Resources could be 10 or more team members from different operations and technical functions.

  • Includes mentoring and providing feedback within a team and across other groups.

  • Reports directly to the Lake County Supply Chain Manager or Program Director (depending on project complexity project impact, and program organizational structure).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Equivalent

  • M.S. and/or MBA preferred.

  • 7-12 years’ SAP experience in Information Systems analysis, design, development, and implementation experience.

  • 3-5 years Information Systems Project Management experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience in IT Strategic Planning

  • 1-3 years’ experience in IT Project Management, planning, and execution across multiple organizational boundaries
