Innovation and engineering are at the heart of Armstrong Flooring’s strategy for success. We are seeking college seniors, early career professionals, and Junior Military Officers for our Engineering Leadership Development Program. The goal of this accelerated development program is to cultivate future leaders for our business. Our Engineering Leadership Development Program offers you highly visible positions and provides you opportunities to lead Armstrong Flooring’s critical projects and operations.
Location: Kankakee, IL
Our Engineering Leadership Development Program prepares you for roles of increased responsibility through a combination of rotational assignments, structured learning, formalized feedback, and mentoring.
Incorporating two different assignments over the course of eighteen (18) months, the program provides you with an outstanding opportunity to develop skills in project leadership and people leadership. This program allows you to build a deep foundation of knowledge as you produce results, quickly gain credibility, and develop a strong company network. You will also have the opportunity to interact with senior leaders and participate in various key initiatives.

Capital Project Engineering
Innovation
New Product Development
Manufacturing-based Engineering
Assignments will be based in Kankakee, IL for the entire eighteen (18) month program.
After completing the program, you will work closely with the program managers and mentors to identify roles within the organization that match your skills and aspirations with the best opportunities for career development and advancement.

Upon entering into the program, you’ll work daylight hours, but must have the ability to work all shifts and respond to emergency calls during off hours, weekends and holidays (if the need arises).
Requirements
What you'll bring to the table:
College seniors, early career professionals and Junior Military Officers
Bachelor’s degree by December 2020 or May 2021 in Industrial Engineering or Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work without constant supervision
Prior internship or work experience in manufacturing, a technical role or the military is highly preferred
Leadership potential displayed through projects, student organizations and/or community service
Demonstrated skills in communication, interpersonal relations and working within a team environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Natural curiosity, knack for continuous improvement, and the drive to roll up your sleeves and get things done
Prioritized safety for yourself and others
