Position Overview:

The Service Desk Technician II role is to provide technical support and assistance to end-users of all levels, with a broad variety of software and hardware issues. This position requires great customer service and is responsible for handling escalated calls/tickets from tier 1 support. As part of AIT?s tier 2 support group, this position will play a key role in supporting critical technology and will provide the opportunity to participate in projects managed by the Infrastructure team.

What You Will Be Doing Day-to-Day:

  • Provide remote & onsite IT technical support for end users requests

  • Responds to Service Desk tier 1 escalated tickets for technical support in a timely and efficient fashion

  • Performs remote diagnostics on data circuits, network equipment, software and other related technologies

  • Assists with the maintenance and monitoring of computer systems operations

  • Maintains and supports the installation and maintenance of software products

  • Develops procedures and troubleshooting documentation for third party tier 1 support

  • Completes new user and termination requests in cooperation with HR

Other Skills We Hope to See:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or other technology-related discipline

  • 2 years of IT experience

  • Experience with current network protocols, operating systems, software, and standards

  • comprehensive hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft O365 applications and Kaseya remote management

Critical Competencies:

  • Ability to articulate IT risk into easy to understand language that business leaders can understand as potential risks to the business

  • The ability to maintain confidentiality regarding information processed, stored, or accessed by the systems is required

  • The ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and to reason analytically is required

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in writing technical specifications are required

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills

  • Strong team player

  • Ability to work independently and within teams
