Design, code,test, document, and maintain high-quality and scalable Big Data solutions
Design,develop and implement rules engines
Research,evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks and patterns to build sustainableBig Data platform
Identify gapsand opportunities for improvement of existing solutions
Define anddevelop APIs for integration with various data sources in the enterprise
Analyze anddefine customer requirements
Assist indefining product technical architecture
Make accuratedevelopment effort estimates to assist management in project and resourceplanning
Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts & designand code reviews
Collaboratewith management, quality assurance, architecture, and other development teams
Writetechnical documentation and participate in production support
Keep skillsup to date through ongoing self-directed training

Bachelor'sdegree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
9+ years ofhands-on Software Development experience
7 years ofdevelopment experience with Java or Scala, XML, Web Services
5+ years ofprevious relational database experience
4+ years ofexperience in Hadoop, MapReduce, HDFS, Spark, Streaming
2+ years ofexperience in Kafka, streaming, NoSQL databases (Cassandra/Hbase preferred),Docker, Kubernetes
Ifyou need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screenfor symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response(i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approvedsymptom screener. Previousexperience with Agile/SCRUM methodology/best practices
Previousexperience and successful track-record of learning new tools and technologiesand leveraging these on integration and implementation projects
Thoroughunderstanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) concepts
2+ years ofexperience in drools
Experience ininfrastructure services on at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred)
Formaltraining and/or certification in any of the above-mentioned tools andtechnologies
Advanceddegree in a technical field
