Sonoco Material Handler - Extrusion in Huntley, Illinois
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up of extrusion line for operation per job specifications. Starts production of extruded sheet and maintains continuous operation. Performs troubleshooting and quality control checks. Performs routine maintenance on extrusion equipment. Process finished product – apply appropriate labels, pack and stack finished goods on pallets. Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area. Performs other work duties or functions as assigned.
Physical and Visual Activities/Demands:
Standing, walking, bending, reaching, reading, writing and talking. Lifting up to 75 pounds. Able to climb ladder. Able to move 1,500 lbs. with pallet jack or stacker.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to continuously lift, reach, stand, and walk throughout the shift. Good written and verbal communication skills. Good manual dexterity and agility. Good leadership skills. Basic math skills. Strong problem solving skills, interpret operators manual.
High school Diploma or equivalent 6 months set up operator experience. 2 years previous extrusion experience preferred.
Machines, Tools, and Equipment
Extruder and hand-held tools, tape measure, micrometers, calipers.
