We are searching for Buyer/Purchasing Clerk in Great Lakes, IL

Noble's Warehouse Associate, will be located in Great Lakes, IL. They will be responsible for sourcing, quoting and purchasing materials for customer orders and store stock. This on site product specialist sources and procures a wide variety on plumbing, electrical, building supplies and industrial repair parts.

Requirements

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Coordinate and maintain rapport with key vendors sustaining product width and depth

  • Utilize systems for sourcing, quoting & purchasing materials for customer orders, planned jobs & store stock.

  • Generate purchase orders and contact vendors to confirm pricing and availability.

  • Place orders to meet customers’ schedules and follow up with suppliers on order statuses.

  • Provide customer service support as the MRO subject matter expert with plumbing, electrical, building supplies and industrial parts (an emphasis on electrical materials).

  • Enter customer, product and vendor data in Noble’s proprietary G-commerce operating system in compliance with contractual requirements.

  • Provide customer service support with order confirmations, product availability, problem resolution, order tracking, backorders and warranty information.

  • Work with warehouse staff to receive, inspect and shelve incoming shipments.

  • Monitor purchase orders, resolve pricing and/or product discrepancies.

  • Correct quantity & product description issues while recording all activity changes on purchase /sales orders

  • Process vendor returns for deficiencies and/or non-compliance

  • Select carriers, negotiate rates, and manage operational issues with freight carriers

  • Process freight invoices, resolve freight claims, and issue freight credits

  • Teachable and willing to learn new systems / processes

Experience & Background:

  • Experience with MRO, building/construction and industrial materials (Knowledge of electrical products preferred).

  • Experience working in a U.S. Military installation and/or governmental environment

  • Customer service background a plus

  • Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite

  • Goal-oriented multi-tasker who is self-motivated to accomplish tasks presented in innovative and create ways

  • Effective communicator (verbal and written) working with multiple levels of governmental and/or corporate hierarchy

  • Proactive team member looking ahead for solutions benefitting our customer base

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in related field or

  • Equivalent combination of life / work experience and education
