Chestnut Health Systems Data Support Specialist / Full-Time / Days in Granite City, Illinois

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Data Support Specialist for our Granite City, IL facility, servicing the Metro East and St. Louis, MO areas.

  • Monitor the help desk system and quickly respond to trouble tickets. Troubleshoot and correct data systems errors, getting help from other Data Team members as needed.

  • Perform or assist with administration, maintenance, and documentation of corporate database applications as assigned by the Data Systems Manager.

  • Act as general administrator of at least one major data system. Administration activities include:

  • Create users.

  • Perform backups and regular maintenance tasks.

  • Document regular procedures, troubleshooting tips, and changes or upgrades.

  • Establish new or improved existing procedures as needed.

  • Training – Provide departments and staff with training of data systems and applications. Develop and update training materials to support training initiatives.

  • Attain proficiencies in core technical competencies for the position, as defined in Data Team procedure manuals and as assigned by the Data Systems Manager.

  • Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.

  • Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Data Systems Manager.

  • Position requires an associate’s degree, preferably in an IS related field.

  • Or a high school diploma or its equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year applicable IS-related technical and/or professional experience, preferably with database administration in a healthcare environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills are required.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills are also required.

  • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut’s background checking process.
