The QC Receiving Technician Lead?s primary responsibility is to assist in the execution of quality processes and procedures in support of the Vital Proteins Quality Control program. This role will carry out the company vision and mission as an integral part of the Vital Proteins team. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the QC Receiving Technician Lead will operate out of the Vital Proteins production facility in Franklin Park.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Pull samples of raw materials, work in progress materials, and finished goods and performs lab testing required and or send to 3rd party laboratories.
Perform quality checks on incoming raw materials, packaging components, and labels.
Perform quality checks during production and assist with batch production records.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Report any process errors, product failures, or deviations to supervisors and record in RedZone.
Create and review controlled documents.
Create, review, and approve completed batch production records.
Reviewing, evaluating, releasing, and holding both raw and finished materials per reported testing results
Enforcing GMP standards in adherence to FDA 21 CFR 111, NSF, and SQF requirements.
Enter results and or product information into a database or ERP system (NetSuite, SAP).
Provide guidance and direction to QC Technicians.
Execute all processes in accordance with company standard operating procedures and cGMPs.
Act as the primary back-up to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
WHO YOU ARE
BS degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
Some college in related field required.
High level of attention to detail.
Must be able to read, write and understand English
Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Experienced and proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
Experience working in a GMP environment for food, pharma, or dietary supplements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent teamwork skills.
Proven leadership capabilities.
You are passionate about the health, fitness, and/or beauty markets.
Can lift 25-50 lbs. on occasion.
