Title: Director of Environmental Health and Safety

The Director, EHS is a new role to the organization but is expected to establish and promote a healthy and safe work environment as well as oversees the implementation and maintenance of environmental health and safety systems and processes to protect employees and customers and the environment.
. Oversees the development and implementation of EHS strategy/programs/policies across multiple locations (700 plus)
Leads the development, review and implementation of site emergency programs and develop best practices
Manage relationships with vendor who will enforce organizational compliance w local, state, provincial and federal safety
regulations (i.e. OSHA, OH &S)
Emphasizes accountability around safety policies and decisions
Coordinate with vendor regular reviews with site leadership and prioritizes issues
Managing environmental impact strategy including considerations in regards to landfill, recycling, etc
Develop budget/policies/procedures to support Environmental Health and Safety operations
Participate in industry and professional interest groups to stay current on best practices

Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications)
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Health and Safety
10-15 years of related work experience with Environmental Health and Safety
Previous experience leading the EHS function required
5-7 years previous experience leading an Environmental Health and Safety team
Knowledge of and/or subject matter expert in the retail/collision industry a plus
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
Frequent travel to locations may be required
Excellent executive level business written and verbal communication skills
Strong proven and balanced leadership skills
Necessary experience with Google suite preferred (although Office suite experience will suffice)
Experience or willingness to build a team
