We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor in our facility in Elgin, IL -- this position is immediately available. In this highly visible position, an ideal candidate will demonstrate previous success in meeting or exceeding production schedules while focusing on Safety, Quality, Cost Control, Delivery Requirements and Employee Development. As a key member of the leadership team that champions lean manufacturing strategies, candidates will participate in continuous process improvement and quality enhancement andbe responsible for 25+ direct reports.

nnEssential Job Duties and Responsibilitiesnn


+ Effectively select, develop/maintain position specific training programs, deliver performance feedback and disciplinary action to assigned staff to promote a collaborative and motivated production environment.

+ Conduct scheduled safety audits, deliver safety training and ensure employees follow established safety guidelines.

n

+ With key work partners to collaborate, plan and implements process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

n

+ Evaluate, disposition, and process rejects according to established policy and practices.

n

+ Monitor supplier product quality, inventory levels and initiate replenishment order for consumables supplies.

n

+ Define, measure and report on production metrics and utilize information to formulate objectives for staff.

n

+ Create production schedule and identify and resolve barriers to resolve day to day production issues to ensure customer deadlines and quality standards are met.

n

+ Conduct department meetings to communicate status on relevant items and ensure company policies are being followed.

n

+ Expedite parts/order to ensure completion by indicated deadline and notify appropriate individuals of delayed parts/orders.

n

+ Identify, monitor and resolve identified part shortages and notify appropriate individuals of estimated resolution date.

n

+ Monitor and ensure defined quality processes are completed on identified parts.

n

+ Working with assigned Manufacturing Engineer, perform root cause analysis on non-conforming parts and implement recommended solution.

n

+ Monitor raw material and work with Production Planners to resolve identify issues and recommend solution to maximize efficiencies of machining operations.

Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as required.

+ Bachelor's degreepreferred

+ 3+ years experience in Production environment, with proven track record of problem solving skills, cost management, and high performance team interaction
