Maintenance Supervisor- I&E- East Plant, Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Job Summary:

This position supervises instrumentation technicians and electrical maintenance employees to ensure a reliable and safe electrical maintenance and I&E program for the facility. Drives continuous improvement through effective feedback and process documentation. It will take an active role in colleague development as well as coaching employees to reach their fullest potential by providing feedback in a manner that is effective, consistent and fair. Leads I&E technicians to ensure quality work is completed safely and efficiently.

Essential Job Functions:

• Insures that all safety, quality and site rules are being followed while work is being performed

• Responsible for ensuring proper execution of scheduled I&E maintenance work as planned by the Maintenance Planner

• Supervises the day to day activities of I&E colleagues

• Supports the development of I&E colleague capabilities. Utilizes the principles and support of the Performance Excellence system to advance capabilities and competencies

• Coaches employees in the areas of job performance, attendance, safety and other related appraisal criteria

• Uses CMMS and other computer systems to maintain records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance information

• Monitor work accomplished for quantity, quality, safe work practices, and GMPs against accepted department and company standards

• Ability to perform independently or supervise team members to trouble-shoot, diagnose, and propose/implement electrical power, control equipment, and component repair solutions

• Other similar duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Must be able to establish expectations for safety, quality, reliability, service and productivity

• Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills

• Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written

• Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Products and Computerized Maintenance Management Software

• Demonstrated/proven leadership experience and ability to work in a dynamic team environment

• Must be customer focused and be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization & planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability

• Possess detailed knowledge of AC/DC circuit theory, PLC’s, process sensors/transmitters, and electrical safety devices (breakers, fuses, etc.)

• Ability to use a HART communicator and laptop to communicate with instruments is preferred

Education/Training:

• Minimum of a high school diploma/GED, engineering degree, or apprentice training

• Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation related field is preferred

Experience:

• 5 years instrumentation experience and/or equivalent degree or schooling (industrial or commercial setting); able to run conduit, troubleshoot, read schematics

• Strong demonstrated expertise in I&E maintenance, with in-depth exposure to the other area (mechanical or I&E maintenance),

• Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred
