Under a degree of supervision, the Student Intern assists construction project managers in assembling project documents, attending project meetings and construction site walkthroughs, reviewing space plans and generally assisting in the ongoing administrative work in the department.
Assist CPM(s) uploading information such as reports, letters, emails into the project management system (e-Builder)
Attends project meetings and assists with developing meeting agendas, writing meeting minutes and tracking issues
Works with CPM(s) to assemble design plans and help review the plans for coordination purposes
Assist CPM(s) with organizing and comparing constructions bids
Conduct project site inspections with CPM(s) and documents those visits by way on construction field reports
Works with CPM(s) and cost accountants to assemble design and construction cost estimates and all the appropriate documentation
For projects in an activation phase will help the activation team order misc. items and coordinate all activities leading up to move-in
Assist project planners in reviewing, measuring and allocating space for renovation projects
General administrative duties as required in the department.
Position Qualifications Include:
High School degree/GED with some college
Full-time student with architecture, engineering, construction management or related field of interest.
Must possess manual dexterity, a willingness to learn the maintenance and repair of new equipment, flexibility in adapting to new techniques, and the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and medical staff personnel.
Able to work independently in a dynamic environment with different types of people.
Basic skills in using office applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to focus on multiple tasks at the same time along with good communication skills (such as writing, listening and speaking.)
Must be able to lift/carry architectural plans/documents (up to 30 lbs.) and be able to walk/stand for up to an hour without difficulty in order to attend construction site meetings/survey.
