Job DescriptionThis position will be responsible for developing, recommending and executing the strategies for the bulk salt stockpile operations. The incumbent will also be accountable for managing and negotiating Salt Handling & Storage Agreements, Lease Agreements and other miscellaneous agreements associated with the bulk salt business in North America. The scope of this role is for a network of about 93 stockpiles, 150+ agreements with annual spend estimated of $83 million. This position will also be responsible collaborating with the Commercial Team to develop and execute a strategy to optimize the network of stockpiles while maintaining low cost and high service levels. Finally, this role is responsible for administrative controls, policies, audits and compliance associated with stockpile operations.

ResponsibilitiesDevelops, recommends and executes overall strategies for stockpile operations, location and capacity to service customers based upon logistic network

Oversees negotiation of stockpile property rental, Storage & Handling Agreements, blending, etc. to maximize flexibility for supply and service requirements to balance cost & service. This includes working with cross-functional partners (legal, insurance & environmental) to insure adequate contractual protection from liability associated with such operations.

Develops and executes requests for proposals, requests for information and requests for quotes

Ensures appropriate sourcing process takes place according to Morton/K+S Procurement policies and procedures

Develops negotiation strategies and leads negotiations with vendors on pricing and terms

Provides reporting with regards to overall progress on contracts renewals, new agreements, and cost changes

Manages the relationship between internal customers and vendors

Works with suppliers to resolve service issues and escalate invoicing issues

Negotiates prices and terms and conditions with vendors while managing risks and opportunities related to the sourcing portfolio

Leads periodic vendor reviews through Business reviews and vendor scorecards

Oversees management of the contract database & insure compliance with COI? utilizing assistance of 3rd party supplier, Stockpile Manual 1H forms, and Contractor Pre-qualification processes

Responsible to oversee the maintenance of the Stockpile Operations Manual

Responsible for the maintenance of vendor master data for bulk supply chain and logistics

Qualifications7+ years of Operations and/or Procurement experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; advanced degree a plus

Must have experience in communicating and presenting strategies to stakeholders and senior level management

Experience in developing, leading, and implementing network optimization strategies

Intermediate knowledge of all MS Office Products

Strong internal and external customer focus with an ability to establish a high degree of credibility with stakeholders, vendors, and customers

Demonstrated ability in successfully managing multiple projects and timelines

Strong interpersonal communication (both written and verbal), and organization skills

Strong analytical and documentation skills

Strong analytical and innovative problem solving skills

Office environment. Travel approximately 5%.
