RevenueWell Software Engineering Team Lead - Unified Communications in Chicago, Illinois

The Lead Engineer will be an expert and team leader in the Software Organization. We are building a new team and you will be the first full-time engineer to join. As the Lead Engineer, you will bring a strong background on Microsoft technologies, React, and desire to lead and grow a team alongside you.

In this role, you will own one of our core product spaces and deliver well designed, highly testable, and resilient solutions for our patient and practice segments. You will also be instrumental in driving our technology roadmap forward and evangelizing modern development and architectural practices. You have a positive attitude that shines as you show your care about customers and colleagues. You are always learning and are a transparent communicator even when it is challenging, seeking to surround yourself with like-minded individuals. This role will be responsible for:

  • Developing and shipping new features at sustainable velocity and high quality for your product space

  • Taking ownership of our existing software, with an eye to user experience, security, and scalability

  • Helping drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a world-class user experience

  • Building and mentoring a team of engineers and fostering a growth-oriented culture

  • Collaborating with other development and infrastructure teams to ensure your products fit well within the infrastructure

  • Partnering with our Product Managers and Designers to turn excellent designs into beautiful outcomes

  • Building tools for yourself and others to increase efficiency and reduce the redundancy of repetitive tasks


  • Minimum 7 years of software development experience working in complex environments

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with distributed and microservice application architectures

  • Ability to produce efficient, scalable, well-tested code that is resilient and maintainable

  • Outstanding performance tuning and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to understand business goals and customer needs, and connect them to specific technical solutions

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)

  • Expertise in Node.js, and JavaScript (React)

  • Experience in .NET a plus

  • Expertise in CI or CD

  • Expertise in REST

  • Expertise with infrastructure as a service and Azure is a big plus

  • Experience working in an agile team environment

  • You are decisive, hands-on and have a bias towards action.
