What You’ll Be Doing:

The purpose of Software Engineer position is to develop, maintain and support existing Aldera software products. This position requires a strongly motivated self-starter with a strong aptitude for learning in-depth Healthcare business rules and functions, and the ability to resolve issues on both interpersonal and technical levels. Additionally, this position requires the ability to work in an open and honest environment where mistakes or issues are never hidden.

The Experience You’ll Need (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field/work experience

  • Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team of technical and non-technical colleagues

  • 2 years of overall software and application development or 3 years of in-depth software and application support experience

  • Strong technical abilities with advanced data and database manipulation skills

  • Experience operating, monitoring, and maintaining software / applications in production

  • Experience in Microsoft .NET Technologies – specifically .NET Core C#, T-SQL

  • Good understanding of MVC, MVVM, Onion architecture, and S.O.L.I.D. principles

  • Experience with microservices oriented development and methodologies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be detailed oriented, data-centric and possess a desire to deliver high quality products

  • Great debugging skills

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative environment with other developers onshore and offshore

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple and shifting priorities

  • Strong attention to detail

Finishing Touches (Preferred):

  • Experience using GitHub or other Git based source control systems.

  • Experience in configuring and using PaaS offerings (like App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Service Bus, Azure Config, etc.)

  • Understanding ANSI X12, HL7, and other data formats

  • Experience in software development for large, distributed, and high production impact systems.

  • Front end Development using modern technologies - specifically REACT or another SPA Framework

  • Healthcare IT experience.

  • Experience in Agile Scrum/Kanban environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Self-Starter: Willingness to learn new tools and skills and tackle new challenges.

Technical requirements:

During the current pandemic Evolent employees are working remotely from home. As such we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 MBPS and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
