The senior .Net developer within the Brookfield Public Securities Group?s (PSG) business applications team is responsible for helping to support a growing business by designing, implementing, delivering, and supporting well tested solutions. The platform includes a combination of proprietary and 3rd party applications like IVP data warehouse, EZE OMS, Advent Geneva, Vermilion, as well as several others.
Design, build, and support solutions to store and integrate data for reporting, as well as for applications and integration layers
Work closely with business partners in investment and operational teams and advise them on solutions that leverage best practices which address their needs
Identify and advocate for improvements and efficiencies that can be made to the existing platform
Assist PSG business application support team with escalated issues
8+ years? experience in a .Net and database development role, focusing on data solutions, at an asset management, hedge fund, or proprietary trading firm
Experience working with a variety of financial instruments is additive
Experience supporting automation job processing streams and scheduling environment is required
Hand on development experience in rapid Data Delivery/reporting framework is a plus
Extensive experience integrating new data sets; inclusive of designing data models that are functional and scalable
Previous experience designing, implementing, and supporting a data warehouse, either proprietary or a 3rd party offering, is distinguishable
Extensive experience with MS SQL Server and T-SQL, inclusive of experience performing query optimization, and developing and supporting stored procedures, views, index, trigger, etc.
Similar experience with Oracle and PL/SQL also ok
Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, Looker, etc.) would be additive
Experience with scripting languages, especially PowerShell
Similar experience with Unix shell scripting also ok
Ability to write well designed, readable, and easy to maintain code
Ability to quickly understand legacy code to provide support and make targeted enhancements
Experience with the following applications would be distinguishable: IVP data warehouse, EZE OMS, Advent Geneva, Vermilion
Experience working in an Agile scrum development environment is desired
Experience with Python, Microsoft Azure, and AWS is a plus.
Microsoft Development tools, including C#.Net Framework, .Net Core, ASP.NET MVC, LINQ
Good verbal and written communication skill
Ability to explain technical concepts and solutions to non-technical individuals
Self-starter who is organized and can manage time effectively
Strong work ethic and desire to achieve positive results
Ability to multi-task is essential
Needs to be a team player who is willing to assist others when needed and work together to attain the best outcomes
Willing to be vocal and share opinions on designs and approach
Bachelor?s in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is desirable
