Job overview and responsibilities

The Principal – Information Technology Systems plays a crucial role in leading the development of high-performing and large-volume applications. This individual will create and maintain the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery. Role will focus on using the agile method to plan, design, develop and launch efficient systems and solutions in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues, opportunities or problems to maximize the benefit of IT and Business investments.

As Principal, you will be expected to take on a leadership role and lead the software development team during the design/build/test phases on multiple complex projects that require subject matter expertise. You will provide direction, tools, technical support and process support to less senior developers. In addition, you will support and troubleshoot software systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing follow-up on all issues and solutions and documentation. A key part of your role will be the development of innovative solutions that increase speed and efficiency.

Required

  • BS/BA (preferably in a technical or scientific field) and/or equivalent work experience

  • Effective Communication skills (verbal + written)

  • Understands technology systems & applications

  • Strong familiarity with the SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards and best practices related to coding and on-time delivery with minimal supervision

  • Competence software design, integration standards including coding and testing

  • Effective in requirements gathering and requirements analysis

  • Willing and able to travel as needed for business required (up to 20%)

  • 5+ years of experience in application design, development, installation and modification

  • 5-7 years of hands on software development experience with Python, Java, C++.

  • 3-5 years of experience with relational database systems including MS SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata.

  • 2-4 years of experience with Hadoop technologies including Hive, HBASE, Spark, Kafka, Nifi.

  • 5-7 years of experience with ETL tools including Ab Initio, SSIS, Talend and Pentaho.

  • 5+ years working with IBM WebSphere Integration Bus (Message Broker) and IBM MQMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
