The Hardware Support Specialist provides on-site support for Kastle provided hardware, Kastle networks and client networks.The ideal support specialist possesses knowledge of network hardware, networking, software, and configuration. They address issues such as the testing, documenting, setting up, and installation of network hardware. They actively participate with clients in devising solutions to improve services. The Hardware Support Specialist is responsible to create emergency service plans for customers and is conversant with the latest technologies. They recommend effective solutions and improvements to achieve the targeted goals. They implement scheduled customer and technical support-related trainings, product installations and maintenance activities. Hardware Support Specialists play a vital role in the success of any organization.
The Hardware Support Engineer has both pre and post sales responsibilities:
Pre - Assist with network setup and configuration on complicated projects and video solutions
Post - Installation and Service
Evaluate a network, create a secure subnet, establish standards (usernames, passwords, documentation)
Maintain regular audits of PCs in the field
KastleVideo config & training & troubleshooting
Presence/ Resident set up & config & troubleshooting
Customer Network Support & troubleshooting
V6 panel set up & troubleshooting
Burning flash cards, programming cameras, etc.
3rd party video config & training & troubleshooting
3rd party intercom config & training & troubleshooting
I want someone who can evaluate a network, create a secure subnet, establish standards (usernames, passwords, documentation), maintain regular audits of PC’s in the field, troubleshoot & install viewing stations, troubleshoot & install KFO’s, train on 3rd party video solutions, etc.
Three plus years experience as a field support engineer (network/hardware) including: structured cabling, network gear rack and stack, VoIP phone setup, switch and firewall configuration, router setup, wireless setup.
Bachelors degree in Electronics, IT, Hardware or Electrical Engineering or similar
A+, Network+, CCNA, Security+ desirable
Forward thinking, advising clients of steps to take to create redundancies and integrity in their solutions
Superior client-facing experience; articulate and professional manner
Collaborative with partner departments in closing out projects and maintain excellent communication
Organized and self-motivated, maintaining their project timelines and prioritizing work
