Position Summary:

As part of Mercury Marine's Product Development & Engineering organization, the Mercury Digital Services group provides offers a unique, exciting opportunity for enterprise web development professionals. The Mercury Digital Services group maintains and enhances Mercury Marine's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and, as a consultancy, shares leading PLM practices by assisting client companies in other industries around the world.

As a web application engineer, you will work within an application development team, interface with key stakeholders, and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build, implement, deploy and support scalable resilient PLM and IoT web solutions using cloud-based technologies in an iterative agile environment

  • Develop components of the application using the Microsoft and Oracle technology stack

  • Write clean & scalable code, test and implement solutions in .NET and Java-based environments

  • Work from high-level requirements through detailed specifications, prototype, software deployment, and administration

  • Work on system and end-user documentation

  • Travel to customer locations as required

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Computer Science or Engineering preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in web-based software development

  • Hands-on experience on cloud-native (Microsoft Azure/Amazon Web Services/Google Cloud Platform) web backend and frontend application development, a must

  • Experience in writing application level code to interact with APIs, RESTful Web Services using AJAX, and JSON is required

  • Programming experience required in Java, C#.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript (Angular, Vue.js, NodeJS or similar), jQuery, ExtJS (or similar) CSS, XML, JSON, Oracle/MS SQL database, Git/SVN/CVS, Microservices, Containerization & Orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Experience required with version control (SCM) tools like GIT/SVN and Azure DevOps for Source Code version management and integrated development environments (IDE) like Eclipse, Visual Code/Studio IDE

  • Analytical thinking with effective problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Databases, Server Setups, Hardware analysis, and Performance tuning a plus

  • Exposure to Microsoft SharePoint development a plus

  • Exposure to low-code development platform (Mendix/Outsystems) a plus

  • Exposure to IoT/IIoT application development a plus

  • Scripting Languages (Perl/Python) a plus
