As a Junior Technology Operations Engineer at Gelber, you will have a real opportunity to have a long-term career in Engineering at a successful trading firm. This position will work closely with not only other talented engineers on Technology Operations but with the rest of the technology team, trading, and Trade Support. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, clear communication, and has a strong interest in growing their technical skillset. This position will report directly into the Manager of Technology Operations who reports directly into the Chief Technology Officer.

What you?ll do:

  • Supporting Gelber?s Third Party Applications that help Engineers? productivity

  • Creating efficiencies for Engineers, Trade Support, and ultimately Traders by creating and deploying software into Gelber?s production environment

  • Automating and streamlining Gelber?s applications, processes, and systems

  • Troubleshooting through complex problems where you cannot always google the answer for development, QA, and production environments

  • Working closely on internal deployments with Risk, Compliance, and Trading Groups

    What you?ll need:

  • Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field

  • 0-3 years of work experience and a strong ability to learn

  • Experience working with either Linux Shell, Bash, Python, or SQL

  • General understanding of Windows and Linux administration

  • Strong critical thinking skills and sense of urgency when it comes to support

  • Great communication skills, inquisitive nature, and strong attention to detail

  • Must be able to be on call for 2 weeks at a time, with 4 weeks off, which includes taking calls 24/7
