Job Description

This role resides within the Global Strategic Sourcing Services (GSSS) Marketing team, reporting into the Marketing Sourcing Manager, and will have initial responsibilities within a subset of Marketing sub-categories.

Within assigned sub-categories:

  • Supports development of, and executes against, the Strategic Sourcing Strategy for assigned sub-categories, with application of all Marketing Sourcing best practices. This is inclusive of annual spend analysis refresh, savings and new projects pipeline, and other improvement opportunities

  • Supports development of and helps foster strategic and operational agency relationships necessary to advance vision of GSSS and our global and market business partners, in order to deliver on set strategies

  • Incorporates into own work and strategies all Marketing Sourcing best practices (under guidance and supervision from direct Manager) including but not limited to agency selection & contracting, scoping, ongoing Agency Relationship Management, contract accountability, 3rd party audits, efficiency and innovations, and other practices designed to improve overall effectiveness of our Marketing Investments

  • Supports continuous evolution of assigned responsibility towards more mature commercial and agency relationship tactics

  • Partner with Manager and other team members to develop and execute sourcing events, inclusive of the following steps:

  • Baseline spend analysis/validation

  • Internal and external search for agencies to include in the sourcing initiatives

  • Extraction of clear scope requirements from business partners, including success metrics

  • Applying Decision Making (DAI) methodology to determine roles, strategy and tactics for contributing resources during the sourcing process

  • Negotiating, structuring, and analyzing the deal/scope, including contractual Terms and Conditions

  • Ensuring effective objective agency selection event performance criteria and supporting the agency selection process

  • Providing expert judgment on the value of the deal

  • Supporting and leading execution activities

  • Supporting the development of project plans, deliverables, metrics and achievements for associated projects

General responsibilities, crossing all of Marketing Categories:

  • Acts as a liaison between Global Marketing Sourcing team and assigned markets, communicating team’s available services and influencing markets to engage with the team

  • Provides analysis of agency scopes within assigned categories as well as for other team members preparing comparison to external and internal benchmarks on rates, resource mix, and other considerations

  • Acts as a Savings Captain for the team, with responsibilities to report own savings following approved savings methodology, as well as aggregate savings for the team, ensure continuous reporting of all team savings, audit of savings reported per the agreed to savings reporting process, and evolution of the savings process over time

  • Administers team’s Agency Performance Evaluation tool (Decideware)

  • Administers team’s rate benchmarking and scoping database tool (Rightspend)

  • Stays informed on latest industry trends within category space

  • Advocates GSSS vision and mission

Qualifications

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree required, preferred in Marketing, Supply Chain, or Business Management.

  • Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, marketing or commensurate experience in related functions. Previous experience in Marketing Sourcing preferred

  • Advanced education is a plus (e.g. MBA).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong project management skills and experience balancing multiple priorities effectively.

  • Possess a working knowledge of procurement standard methodologies such as sourcing, RFP processes including supplier negotiations, selection, evaluation, category management, and basic

People/Relationship Management:

  • Must be comfortable interacting, influencing, and leading internal and external partners across all levels of the organization

  • Able to align own activities with group’s goals and strategies

  • Excellent at fostering and managing strategic relationships with internal/external customers and agencies, external company counterparts, and industry and trade associations to garner standard methodologies to continually enhance sourcing, spend management, and Agency Relationship Management processes
