Hyatt Full Stack AEM Developer in CHICAGO, Illinois


The ideal candidate is someone who is skilled and passionate about software engineering and content management systems – with a specialty in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development and fluency in both front end and backend technologies.

You will work within an agile team of made up of engineers, product owner, quality assurance (QA) as well as user experience (UX) individuals. Together, the team is responsible for building out cutting edge, web-based ecommerce and marketing solutions for our guests. The team also collaborates with other development and operations teams using DevOps tools and culture to deliver software to customers early and often.

A partial, unordered, list of desired skills includes first and foremost an expertise in AEM development. Other required skills include fluency in Java, vanilla JavaScript and CSS. Experience with Spring Boot, Node, React, unit testing, and build tools, such as Jenkins, is a plus. A more detailed list of primary skills include the following:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager 6.3 & Up and AEM Core components (Example: Sling, OSGI, JCR, Dispatcher)

  • Experience building AEM Components and Templates to provide omni-channel content to and mobile app users.

  • Understanding of Content Fragment Models, Content Fragments & Experience Fragments.

  • Well-versed with AEM workflows setup and maintenance as well as User and Group Management.

  • Java (OSGi, JSP, Servlets) skills and hands-on experience with Sightly (AEM Templating language) and CoralUI/ TouchUI frameworks.

  • Working with Java or similar to design and implement RESTful web services.

  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns.

  • Core foundation in JavaScript including a good understanding of ES6 concepts and syntax.

  • Ability to write JavaScript that responds to user interactions on a web page along with a foundational understanding of how the event model works.

  • Comprehension to take a visual design and bring it to life with CSS with the skills to be able to position and layout elements as designed across multiple breakpoints.

  • 3 years of experience AEM Experience.

  • 3 years of experience working with backend and front-end technologies.

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
