Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, Inc, seeks an Electrical Foreman located at our facility in Chicago, Illinois. Reporting to the Electrical Manager, this person is responsible for managing the electrical operations.


  • Supervise and delegate work responsibilities of subordinates.

  • Manage time cards, and any disciplinary action as needed.

  • Provide quick response and assistance to electrical personnel.

  • Manage contractors and technicians utilized in maintenance or repair of equipment.

  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment, components, & systems including PLC, Servo Motion, VFD’s and HMI.

  • Diagnose the root cause of electrical malfunctions.

  • Analyze failure of production equipment and take corrective & preventive actions.

  • Promote, practice, and enforce a safety and healthy work environment.

  • Keep electrical documentation and manuals organized.

  • Report progress on projects and daily issues.

  • Participation in Planned Maintenance system development and maintenance as it relates to electrical systems.

  • Identify critical electrical spare parts for new and existing equipment.

  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.

  • Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Controls from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role

  • Prior Tube Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Fully competent to trouble shoot & work with programmable logic controllers.

  • RSLogix 500, Panelview, RSView studio, (Siemens Step 7 a plus)

  • Able to read and interpret Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

  • Autocad skills a plus

  • Must be willing to work flexible and weekend hours.

  • Strong decision making, problem solving, communication (written & verbal), and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of MS-Office Applications

  • Fluent and able to read, write and communicate in English
