Aerotek Quality Lab Technician - IMMEDIATE HIRE in CENTRALIA, Illinois

The Lab Technician has

the accountability for inspecting and verifying that the product produced is

made in accordance with the Customer’s specification and meets the Company’s

quality expectations. Performing validation, verification of monitoring activities,

product sampling, inspection, analysis and internal audits at all stages of

production per governing regulations. Description from Quality Lead: "This

person will test incoming, intermediate, and finished products, inspect drums

and totes, check product labels, create certificate of analysis (COAs), review

and issue batch records, batch adjustments. Testing includes basic wet

chemistry, specific gravity, pH, titration, viscosity work, basic calibration

and troubleshooting." • Provide disposition for the receipt, inspection,

and release of raw, in – process, finished product, packaging materials and

processing aids. • Review COA provided with the raw material or container and

verify against internal specifications. • Issue, review, and file batch records,

labels, and seals for manufacturing and packaging. • Review department systems

to improve processes and procedures; eliminate non-value added activities. •

Participate in internal audits of facilities. • On-going maintenance of system

including modification of current processes and procedures as necessary. •

Provide support to all internal and external customers. • Provide product

development support . • Prepare and issue logbooks for operations. • Maintain

all laboratory equipment. • Participate in monthly facility walkthroughs. •

Create and issue Certificates of Analysis for all shipments. Prepare other

customer specific documentation or label requirements. • Meet SQF requirements

by following all applicable standards and reporting any food safety problems to

Plant Manager or Quality Control Manager. • Participate as a member of the

HACCP team. • Apply all SQF standards and report any food safety incidents to

the Supervisor, Manager or designated back-up (applicable to positions in SQF Certified

Plants) • Other duties as required

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS/BA in a

scientific discipline or combined education and experience. • No industry

experience needed, bachelor in science related field (chemistry or biology or

food) is a MUST. This is entry level. • Obtain certificate as an SQF

practitioner, 2 Day Advanced HACCP Training, and Internal Lead Auditor

certification. • Obtain certification to ship small hazardous materials. •

Strong knowledge of analytical test methodology and the ability to analyze and

interpret results. • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft applications -

Outlook, Word, Excel. • Attention to detail
