Job Summary

The Digital Press Operator reports to the operations team. This positions is responsible for operating digital presses, both cutsheet and web/continuous feed devices. This includes maintenance and operation of the device, creating color profiles, color matching and management, and meeting the quality standards of the business and its' clientele. This will require working with Client Services, prepress and bindery to ensure a quality product is delivered. This position requires a technical skill set with a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Operate and maintain cut sheet digital or digital inkjet web presses

  • Create and define substrate profiles for new substrates

  • Collaborate with Prepress on imposition requirements and workflows

  • Monitor and manage color in accordance with established color standards

  • Follow written instructions as outlined in the job instructions, general work instructions, and operating standards

  • Perform production quality verification steps in compliance with work instructions to ensure consistent quality

  • Perform production record / sequence verification steps with variable data jobs

  • Perform product sampling as outlined in the job instructions and general work instructions

  • Troubleshoot press and print related issues

  • Monitor and maintain established consumable inventory levels

  • Collaborate with department managers to effectively meet deadlines

  • Operate material handling equipment moving press loads raw materials in and out of the department

  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn other post print production equipment as needed

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Flexibility to work overtime and in other departments as needed to get the job done

  • Perform job duties in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards including but not limited to HIPAA, SOC2, and OSHA

Qualifications and Skills

  • at least 2 years experience operating digital color printing equipment

  • experience with color management, sample matching, and device profiling

  • intermediate knowledge of impositions

  • comfortable working within a team environment, meeting team objectives

  • confident with a computer as we are a highly technology focused organization and use a variety of applications to collaborate, process, create, and manage production

  • ability to work within a process driven environment, multi-task, and manage priorities
