Provide technical phone support by answering questions, troubleshooting problems, logging and closing complaint files and escalating major issues to appropriate company personnel. Alternately, the candidate will provide technical training on specified products in Leica’s newly constructed state-of-the-art Customer Support Laboratory. Training programs are designed for small groups to ensure maximum customer learning and satisfaction.


/Responsibility/ / / / / / / * Provide product and applications phone support to end-users, field personnel and dealers for histology, immunohistochemistry. * Log calls into Customer Support Database. * Provide troubleshooting efforts to resolve application problems. * Participate in development of training materials and conduct classes and labs for customers, employees, and others as needed. * Conduct applications project in Customer Support Laboratory Responsible for addressing application, instrument and training issues. * Provide training and support for Leica Biosystems Products * Required to perform instrument training * Quickly responds to customer inquiries and requests regarding products, questions and technical problems. * Conducts research to obtain support information if necessary. Proposes alternative solutions to customers for a variety of issues. * Responsible for entering complaints resolution to ensure that proper and satisfactory responses and results are provided to customers. * Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction. * Conducts all duties with the highest level of professionalism. * Completes Lab projects as assigned. * Is able to effective communicate with both internal and external personnel * Attends and participates in group meetings, advisory groups, etc., as needed. * Participates in Sales and Customer training. Prepares hand-out material and formal product presentations along with practical exercises. * Seeks constant improvement in work processes and techniques to increase department productivity. * Knowledge and understanding of specialized histology such as immunohistochemistry and the company's products and/or services. * Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficiency on one or more products. * Strong Customer Satisfaction Skills. * Ability to get along well with diverse personalities. Must be tactful, mature and flexible. * Fluency with a variety of Microsoft applications: word, excel, PPT, outlook. * Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner. * Must possess computer proficiency. * Ability to successfully respond to multiple work pressures. * Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups. * Ability to listen, understand, interpret and solves problems.



  1. Experience
    • Three or more years of histology experience or equivalent.
    • Must have strong immunohistochemistry experience.
    • Research background preferred not required.

b) Education * Minimum high school diploma * Associates degree (A.A.) preferred or equivalent in medical technology or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required. QIHC (ASCP) certification highly desired.
